The Redan Inn is a newly-refurbished public house with seven boutique rooms above the pub, returning it to its historical status as an Inn. The bar is open seven days a week, with a roaring wood-burner, comfy tables and benches, a selection of games to whittle time away, a specialist gin collection with over 100 bottles on the shelves, and a fully stocked bar with local ales, international lagers and spirits to see you through.

From the same team behind our two award winning sister sites The Pumphouse in Hotwells, Bristol, and Long Ashton’s The Bird in Hand, the Redan Inn boasts one of the finest front of house teams in the South West, with a focus on combining warmth of service with efficiency and professionalism. The kitchen team is led by the talented Daniel Edwards, formerly of the Marlborough Tavern in Bath, who looks to take the best of our locally sourced ingredients (including from our own kitchen garden) and to treat them with respect and knowledge in equal measure, producing dishes that have gained and maintained our Two AA* Rosette rating for 2018. This, alongside Chef Proprietor Toby Gritten’s field-to-fork and foraging style of cookery, look set to lead the Redan and our team onto further accolades to go alongside those from our other sites, including Best Restaurant, Best Chef (twice), Outstanding Wine List, Bib Gourmands and Several AA rosettes to name but a few.

From a light bite off the lunchtime specials board to a hearty lunch, the a la carte menu in the restaurant, our Chef’s Signature tasting menu, or a celebration in the Private Dining Room, the chefs have something to cook up for you. We are lucky to have such amazing produce on our doorstep and have gone to great lengths to find the most local, ethically sourced and, above all, expertly produced ingredients. In cookery, that is half the battle.

Our Redan Ploughman’s – If you’re going to do something classic, do it well

The restaurant serves lunch from 12pm‑3pm and dinner from 6pm‑9.30pm but around those hours, there are home-made snacks available over the bar for a quick nibble. Don’t forget Sundays — incredible roasts available from 12pm‑4pm.

We also have seven boutique rooms, appointed in our signature quirky style for your comfort and curiosity. Whether travelling for business, leisure, our signature tasting menu, or simply passing through, we offer warmth and comfort away from the big city for the night. Our location means we are perfectly placed for a jaunt into the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, the historic and beautiful city of Wells, or into the cultural hub of the South West, Bristol.
